THE scriptures are very clear that we must never pray to or consult with the dead. Such practice is known as necromancy, which is one of the abominations strictly forbidden by God. We must not associate in any way with witches, soothsayers, enchanters, sorcerers, spell makers, mediums, spiritists or those who consult with the deadc/f Deut 18:9-14. Benny Hinn consults with the dead and should therefore be avoided. He confesses that he visits the graves of Aimee Semple McPherson and Kathryn Kuhlman where he experiences "the anointing" *7. Apart from anything else that should alert us to the fact that Hinn's anointing is not from God. In a crusade conducted in Hawaii Hinn spoke of hearing the voice of Elijah as well as getting instruction from Kuhlman. Both people are dead, so how is it that Hinn claims to hear their voices? Where does this spirit-istic notion come from. The clear answer is that unclean spirits have invaded the Pentecostal/Charismatic church scene and they are forcing upon Christendom the idea that all of this is a great revival from God. But the question remainsHow did it happen? When did the demons invade the church and by whose authority? *7 Christianity in Crisis pgs 30 & 31 [ TOP ] Appeared in Volume 4.1 January 1998 |
