Through the insight of His Word must surely be the great objective of true spirituality. Christ said this won’t happen unless we are “pure in heart” i.e. we must be clean and have a right motive. Later, in the Sermon on the Mount, He said, “If your eye is single (i.e. no duplicity or ulterior motive), your whole body shall be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness” (Matt 6:22-23).

As you know CWM exposes evil and false teaching in the Church without fear or favour towards men or movements. We do this because we believe we have a duty to contend for the faith and a responsibility to the Body of Christ. This does not mean that we place ourselves beyond examination. We hold ourselves available for open discussion with those whom we criticise. Sadly our offer is usually refused for reasons that appear to us confusing to say the least. In this connection we have published letters (page 6) and Church News (pages 3-5) on which we ask you to be the judge.

Due to our extremely busy programmes – Siam & Lisa Bhayro have just moved to the USA and Kath & I are concluding a four week ministry tour in UK – plus the deadline to give notice of the next CWM Gathering with Bill Randles as guest speaker, this issue may not be put together as well as previous issues. Last night I preached in South Wales, my native country. At the end of the service one of the youth leaders appeared somewhat perplexed and was asked if he was feeling confused. “That was a load of rubbish” was allegedly his comment. He was within his rights to make such a comment providing he supports his view by Scripture as I had done in teaching about end time deceptions in the Church. I suspect he disliked my public references to Benny Hinn and Morris Cerullo who appeal to a perverted idea of “the anointing” to justify their life-styles and to make merchandise of God’s people.
