SUMMARY: These together with my contribution on GRACE plus the Letters, Views and News page round off what we trust will prove to be a helpful, informative and soul-replenishing issue. Happy reading.
God bless you.
I was reading through Peters epistles I was struck by his emphasis upon GRACE. The above clause the grace of life was especially impacting. In fact it was almost as if I saw it for the first time. We have all read of the grace of God (21 times in NT) and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (x 10), but what of this grace of life?
Obviously it is the self same grace in each case. It emanates from God and belongs to those who know and are owned by Christ, but, and here is the rub; it regulates the lives of those who truly own Jesus Christ as Lord. Peter’s main point is that if this does not pertain then prayer is hindered.
He puts the issue in the centre of the nuclear family. Peter calls husbands and wives to examine their relationship. He says if it is out of balance prayer will be hindered. Could this be a major problem in the Church and in the world? We will seek to answer that question on pages (811).

In this CETF we have four new writers Jim Elliff (USA) claims western churches are full of unsaved people; Bill Scudder (USA) confesses his heresy in promoting the Charismatic Movement through the FGBMI when he was a chapter president; and Tony Tsipouras (OZ) and Chris Carmichael (USA) question the concept and reality of revival (What Revival?) from different perspectives. Also in this issue A W Tozer and J C Ryle, two excellent writers from the past, remind us of the true work of the Church and its not politics! Sadly when the church becomes political, internally or externally, it ceases to be prophetic. Philip Foster challenges us with another of his OT Prayers MOSES. Peter Barnes sheds some light on Stem Cells and Brett Bigg concludes his series on Kenneth Copeland Unmasked.
