SUMMARY:
We all long for a time when future 9th Av dates will be without suffering for the Jewish people and yet we are promised a time in the future when our Lord Jesus Christ shall return together with the raptured saints. At that time the power of the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet will be broken and they shall be thrown into the Lake of Fire. Satan will be chained up for 1,000 years. How wonderful it would be for the Jews to receive and know their true Messiah our Lord Jesus Christ and may 9th Av instead be a blessing for the Jewish saints.

SOME Middle East Christian commentators have observed an interesting correlation developing over the past fifteen years involving events influencing Israel and adversely affecting the weather in the United States and Europe.
On numerous occasions where a US President has jeopardised Israel’s national security by brokering diplomatic deals with Palestinian offi cials either the President’s hometown, home state or neighbouring states are hit with unprecedented simultaneous storms, floods, heat waves or financial stock market corrections.
Interestingly US newspapers have often reported signifi cant Middle East ‘peace’ initiatives together with articles about record breaking severe weather in the US on the same front page.
An example of a Middle East “peace” initiative coupled with severe weather is documented by Bill Koenig a White House Press Journalist and author of Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel: *1
In 1991, as then-U.S. President George H.W. Bush addressed a historic conference *2 on the Middle East in Madrid, Spain, a ‘Nor’easter’ of such historic and unique proportions it was called the “perfect storm” *3, gathered in the North Atlantic Ocean. The storm sent 11-metre (35-foot) high walls of water crashing down on Bush’s Kennebunkport, Maine, home as it lashed New England *4.
In fact, Bush’s fi rst stop in the U.S. on his way home from Madrid was to the family compound to assess the damage. The “Perfect Storm” referred to in this quote is explained in Bill Koenig’s book.
In addition a motion picture was produced of this actual event, which can be rented on video or dvd.
However the most severe event was 11 September 2001 as that very day the US was scheduled to release a joint Middle East peace initiative with Saudi Arabia but attacks on the World Trade Centre building in New York by Saudi terrorists totally destroyed any credibility the Saudis had in negotiating an agreement with the US. The timing of these events co-relates to God’s promise to Abraham:
And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you all families of the earth shall be blessed —
Genesis 12:3.
In the book of Zechariah (2:8-9) it states that whoever touches God’s people touches the apple of His eye, and also that He will fight against those who fight against Israel.
Most concerning is that the first step in the creation of a Palestinian state as engineered by the United States, Europe and the United Nations is to drive Jewish settlers from the Gaza strip, West Bank and other areas.
The first stage in this campaign began 14–17 August 2005 and involved Israeli soldiers removing settlers from their homes on the Gaza strip as we sympathetically viewed television news.
The Palestinians rejoiced and claimed it was a victory for all the martyrs who died during the current intifada as the Palestinian propaganda cites: “Today Gaza and Tomorrow the West Bank and Jerusalem”.
The 9th Av this year was 14 August 2005 a day when Israeli settlers were removed from their homes in Gaza. This is the day in which the Jews have historically suffered tragedy.
Simultaneously during this disengagement process the United States has experienced earthquakes and severe weather patterns.
These events have been documented by Bill Koenig referred to above.
Here’s the quote:
While Israel is preparing to evacuate [Gaza], the U.S. continues to experience record heat and drought; and tropical storm Irene broke records Sunday as the earliest ninth-named storm in the Atlantic hurricane season, which began June 1 and ends Nov. 30.
Normally, only two named storms have formed by this time in the season.
There have been earthquakes in diverse places such as Montana (5.6 on July 26) and New Mexico (4.9 on August 10); we continue to hear about U.S. and British terror concerns; we’re experiencing record-level oil prices and inventory concerns; Condoleezza Rice is in daily contact with Dov Weisglass Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s bureau chief; and the U.S. nemeses North Korea, Iran and Iraq are becoming more problematic as is typical when the U.S. focus is on Israel’s land.
9th AV (Tish’a b’Av) TRAGEDIES THROUGHOUT HISTORY:
1312BC: Spies return from 40 days in Israel with evil reports of the Land of Israel. Jewish people cry in despair, and give up hope of entering the Land of Israel.
421BC: Destruction of First Temple by the Babylonians, under Nebuchadnezzar, approximately 100,000 Jews killed during invasion. Exile of the remaining tribes living in southern kingdom to Babylon and Persia.
70AD: Destruction of Second Temple by Romans, under Titus at least 2,500,000 Jews die as a result of war, famine and disease. Over 1,000,000 Jews exiled to all parts of the Roman Empire. Over 100,000 Jews sold as slaves by the Romans. Jews killed and tortured in gladiatorial “games” and pagan celebrations.
71AD: Romans ploughed up the site of the Mikdash5 to establish a Roman colony.
135AD: City of Betar6, the last independent outpost under Bar Kochba, fell to the Romans.
1095: First Crusade declared by Pope Urban II. 10,000 Jews killed in fi rst month of Crusade. Crusades bring death and destruction to thousands of Jews, totally destroyed many communities in Rhineland and France.
1290: King Edward I of England ordered expulsion of all Jews including persecution and confi scation of literature and property.
1492: Inquisition in Spain and Portugal culminates in the expulsion of the Jews from the Iberian Peninsula. <br>Families separated, many die by drowning, massive loss of property.
1648: 3,000 Jews were killed in Konstantyno in the Chmielnicki massacres in Poland
1849: Jews of Hungary were emancipated.
1914: World War I began.
1942: Deportations from Warsaw Ghetto to the Treblinka concentration camp begin.

1656: Spinoza was excommunicated by the Jewish community of Amsterdam.
1833: British House of Commons voted in favour of the emancipation of the Jews of England. House of Lords rejected the proposal until 1845. 7th of Av
586BC: Nebuchadnezzar occupied the first Beit Hamikdash (The Holy Temple).
1391: Jews of Valencia, Spain, massacred.
1941: Goering offi cially ordered the planning and launching of the Nazi policy of mass executions of the Jews. (Notice how many times attempted destruction of the Jews is associated with Tish’a b’Av, i.e. the Fast of the Ninth of Av.) 8th of Av
1349: the Jews of Frankfurt, Germany were killed in the Black Death massacres.
1670: Jewish community of Vienna expelled.
1929: Jewish Agency for Palestine founded.
1942: Mass deportation of Jews from Warsaw ghetto announced. More than 300,000 Jews were taken to concentration camps during the 53 days of this Nazi action.
CONCLUSION:
