"I am sure that all Catholics, and Christians of other Churches, rejoice at the election of Cardinal Ratzinger as the new head of the Catholic Church” said Rev Fred Nile.
“The new conservative Pope Benedict is not only the leader of the Catholic Church but represents all Christians, especially Evangelicals, in the campaign to protect human life, the institution of marriage and the God-given basic and natural unit of society, the family.
Pope Benedict XVI will continue the faithful, zealous efforts of the former Pope, John Paul II, against the culture of death, the rise of secularism and atheism, the promotion of immorality through pornography, prostitution and homosexuality, as well as his opposition to poverty and war.
He will also promote the importance of healthy minds and bodies for our youth in the war against drugs.
Finally, the new Pope will continue the historic Biblical teaching on the fundamentals of the Christian faith such as the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ and His Atonement on the Cross for our sins, and the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ” said Rev Fred Nile MLC.
