SUMMARY: A tribute on behalf of CWM: DR OPAL S. REDDIN (23/04/1921–19/11/2005)
Dr Opal Reddin, Professor Emeritus of the A/G Central Bible College in Springfi eld Missouri where she held her professorship from 1968- 1994, was the only retiring faculty member to receive this honour.
Well known for her strong stand for traditional Pentecostalism against the declension and apostasy that gripped her denomination she remained firm to the end. Philip Powell had many encouraging communiqués from her. And while she frequently sought to introduce a “softer touch” and a more moderate tone in things that Philip wrote and said she always supported the truth of his comments and tried to encourage others within AG-USA to see the point.
She will be sorely missed by CWM. We hereby extend our love and sympathy to her family.
May God bless the work and loyal stand for TRUTH of Opal Reddin.

Quote by the late Dr Opal Reddin (AG-USA):
The good news of the gospel is: “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ” (Galatians 3:13,14).
We need not and cannot add to the fi nished work of Calvary.
There is no curse on those who are in Christ.
When you encounter people talking about generational curses, tell them how to receive generational blessings.
When your ‘feelings’ say you need deliverance, believe God, not your feelings. If misguided persons say you need ‘deliverance ministry,’ remind them of what God says, ‘Stand fast in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage’ (Galatians 5:1). ‘Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed’ (John 8:36).”
Professor Opal S. Reddin quoted in My Swim Through Cleansing Stream by Lonnie Schutz. Opal was called home to her Lord on November 19, 2005.

Bill Scudder of Azusa@aol.com USA wrote:

Lets look at “generational curses” that are taught. If you will study the scriptures that are used in this teaching to promote it, you will see that only those that HATE God can have a generational curse. Every one of these teachings is unbiblical.
GENERATIONAL CURSES:
You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing loving kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments (Exodus 20:5,6).
Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His loving kindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments; but repays those who hate Him to their faces, to destroy them; He will not delay with him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face (Deuteronomy 7:9,10).

EDITORIAL COMMENT (Philip Powell): I fi rst encountered Cleansing Streams in New Zealand where it has remained prominent having been brought over from USA in connection with the so called Pensacola Revival. It is totally unbiblical and highly dangerous.
In New Zealand those who promote it are doing so on account of leadership problems with moral sins.
I recently suggested to pastors who were teaching this stuff to their people that they needed to openly confess their own sins and not try to hide behind what is essentially a ploy and a cover.
He who covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy (Proverbs 28:13).
A TEASER FROM THE ARTICLE:
The overwhelming problem with Cleansing Stream is the shift of focus away from Jesus and the Gospel, to an unbiblical concept of the powers of “hell”. For those who are caught up in this kind of Christian “hyper spiritual” mindset, everything becomes an attack of the devil. At one point Mr Davis said that every temptation is a demon talking to you.
These kinds of illustrations and statements do not bring freedom to the believer but bondage.
Whenever the focus is taken off of Jesus Christ and the suffi ciency of Calvary to set us free from sin and Satan, then we are left to our own means to atone for sin and to bring us into a right relationship with God.
Instead of looking to Jesus as the author and fi nisher of our faith, who is able to present us perfect before the Father, we are left to renounce past curses, pull out the “hooks” of the devil, and seek deliverance for various bondages in our life.
