SUMMARY:
BLITZKRIEG means, “lightning war”. It was a
German tactic used in WW2 (1939-1945) based
on speed and surprise in attacks from light,
fast moving tank units, supported by planes
and infantry (foot soldiers).
Developed by Hans
Guderian, a German army offi cer who had written a military
pamphlet called “Achtung Panzer” which fell into the hands
of Hitler, the tactic was used to devastating effect in the
fi rst years of the war. Blitzkrieg resulted in the British and
French armies being pushed back in just a few weeks to the
beaches of Dunkirk and the Russian army being devastated
in June 1941.
Ironically Guderian got his idea from a British and a
French offi cer, by copying and broadening what they had put
on paper. The allies were adamant that tanks would not gain
infl uence in their armies. In 1940 they still had a World War
One mentality. Their tanks were poor compared to the German
Panzers and Britain thought that, as an island, their navy
would protect them. Germany, with a smaller though new
navy, had to develop a new military tactic...
Blitzkrieg.1
Lest Satan should take advantage of us: for we are not
ignorant of his devices
(2 Corinthians 2:11).
Satan is an opportunist, a copyist and a terrorist. His endtime
Blitzkrieg is predictable and in some ways a refl ection of
the lightning war described above. His attack is simultaneous
and on many fronts.
CHILDREN — he targets the growing generation.
ISLAM
— perceived as the BIG threat, BUT is it?
ROMANISM
— bigger than Islam;
NEW AGE–OCCULTISM — the enemy
within and without. All capable of lightning strikes and part
of Satan’s end time blitzkrieg against the true Church. The
list goes on and on.
Bear these ideas in mind as you read this CETF:
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but
mighty through God for the pulling down of strong holds
(2 Corinthians 10:4).
A Time to REFLECT:
Our God is the original thinker — “... and the LOGOS2
was God ...”. The “logos” resides and remains “with God”
(John 1:1). God will never counter Satan’s blitzkrieg with a
duplicate blitzkrieg.
The War is won — God is already where we will be
tomorrow or next year or the next decade ad infi nitum. Nothing
takes Him by surprise. Christ won the war forever at Calvary.
While as WATCHMEN we must remain diligent, we should not
worry. We rest in the Lord, do what we should and recognise
that the Lord is always sovereign, in control and HE cares for
His people and about His honour far more than we can.
Our weapons are not “carnal” {fl eshly} but they “are mighty”
{excel}. The Greek dunatov dunatos {Strong 1415} derived
from dunamai dunamai {Strong 1410} presents the concept
of being able i.e. equipped to act. The weaponry at our disposal
will achieve God’s intention. Calvary is the touchstone.
A Time to ACT:
It is time for you, LORD, to work: for they have made void
your law
(Psalm 119:126).
In this issue of CETF with the above in mind we continue the
work of dispelling the darkness with the marvellous light of THE
Gospel— “... warning and teaching everyone ...”
(Col 1: 28).
Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
To serve the King of kings
(William Merrill, 1911)
AMEN!

2 In John the logos denotes the essential Word of God, Jesus Christ;
the personal wisdom and power in union with God; his minister in
creation and government of the universe; the cause of all the world’s
life both physical and ethical, which for the procurement of man’s
salvation put on human nature in the person of Jesus the Messiah,
the second person in the Godhead, and shone forth conspicuously
from His words and deeds.
