Peer pressure is used to squeeze more money out of followers. For a lot of Island people in New Zealand , the local Church becomes their surrogate village where they can speak their own language and be themselves. It is not unknown for new Churches to be built and before they are opened for worship the building is made debt free due to exhortations by the minister. (Refer #9 above) Peter Fowler writes, "I am reassured by Brian's public acknowledgement of his father's confession and I have made contact with other victims in NZ and will meet them soon. I am also pleased that NZ AoG now appears to be treating my allegations seriously and that a genuine investigation appears to be in progress and I am hopeful of a positive resolution in the next few weeks. In the meantime, I am refraining from making any public comment.
