1) 40 Days of Biblical Purpose or ?
THE PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE (P-DL)

There are several concerns about using this P-DL course.
a...Why does Rick accept the hounour of the course in his name and not give God the honour?
b...Why was it necessary to Copyright any part of the course?
Has he added to the "Good News"
c... What has become so special about delivering the "Good News" that many many church organisations, across many denominations, feel the need to BUY (as with money) this P-DL package from Saddleback?
d...Why can't the Shepherds who are BUYing this P-DL package compose their own local package?
Isn't this why they are Shepherds?
e...Why do the members of the flock have to BUY a P-DL Workbook?
Surely the contents are at the Shepherds fingertips already?
What was the shepherd's training all about then?
f...Why are you NOT allowed to amend or vary the P-DL package?
g...Aren't the Aims & Objects already spelt out in the Bible - whatever the version.( BUT refer #13 in this CWM Mailer)
h...Rick is taking us on a spiritual journey of awakening. OK, BUT isn't this what every local Shepherd is supposed to be doing with flock without BUYing into a world wide scheme?
i...Doesn't this make a mockery of "Denominations"? Look out here cometh the 'World Wide Church' by default!

Hopefully there will be developments from this, as presently 'Alpha' has more "Good Intentions" than "Good News".
What is incredible is that the points raised by Prasch & Powell (& others)
can be so easily incorporated into the 'Alpha' program -- thus making it into
a first rate Sower of The Truth.
Alas it seems the 'Alpha' program is part of the continued efforts of the
enemy (Satan) to lead us away from The Word as laid out in the Bible.
3) What Destiny for Brian & Ian?
A powerful leader has arisen from Maoridom, New Zealand’s first Tele-evangelist.
What is his theology?
Is it “Kingdom Now” or "Prosperity"

4) Want POWER? Visit the POPE.
The world shows a great fondness for the Pope as he addresses and admonishes world leaders and makes declarations on all major events.
An audience with the Pope is essential for secular recognition.
But what about Spiritual recognition?

6) Is the POPE going for a Lourdes miracle?
The New Zealand reports that the POPE went to Lourdes with many Pilgrims.
Interesting that, considering his medical condition, The POPE is not asking to be healed.
ISN'T this is the very reason that Pilgrams flock to Lourdes.
Wouldn't it be great outreach if the POPE was cured?
It would strengthen the cult of Mary & the RC church.

7) Lot’s of Passion. Little result?
"The Passion of Christ" by Mel Gibson
The secular world has passed on to watch the next new Movie.
Warner Bros ( in New Zealand at least ) have agreed to having a Christian leaflet, based on the "Reason Why", to be packaged with every DVD sold. Many churches are trying to use this DVD as a lure amongst the unsaved. At a later date we will report on this aspect.
Does this sort of outreach work or not?

Philip and Kathleen Powell once again thank you all for your prayers. Kath is improving every day, though the weekly visit of the physiotherapist plus the following two days after the visit are always extra painful. Kath's sister-in-law, Ruth Buckley will cross the Tasman to be with her and Jonathan while Philip is away ministering in UK - October 11 to November 6.
Please pray that the healing to the knee and wrist will continue and that the heavy preaching tour in UK will be owned of the Lord.
